Mary Beth is the Director of Recruiting for Hawthorne. She’s been matching personalities with positions for 7 years. Born and raised in Pittsburgh she was a Human Resources and Recruiting Manager for 3+ years before moving to Wilmington, NC. Her previous company tripled in size over a two year period and this catapulted her knowledge on every department and position a company can have. She believes finding the right person for any position is a mix of skillset, background and personality. Maintaining a positive company culture starts with your people.
Here at Hawthorne she focuses on Management, Director Level and VP level roles. Although she has found great success with sales roles, finding top talent for companies in the Health/Wellness verticals and the Daily Deal, Coupon and Offers world is her passion.
With a great understanding of the digital world she understands that a company’s needs are always changing. Her belief is finding the right person saves the company time, effort and cost while boosting the company’s culture and morale. This is vital when it comes to company success long term.
A West Virginia University graduate, she earned the Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarship and was the Secretary for Lambda Pi Eta, which is the National Communication Association’s honor society. Her studies focused on communication with emphasis on interpersonal, business organization and theory. With her experience comes a big picture outlook on how to make businesses work successfully and she says this starts with the people you hire.
