Jonathan is a senior recruiter that focuses on non-profit organizations including foundations, associations, healthcare providers, and higher education institutions. After working as a college recruiter for a University for nearly 4 years, Jonathan brings a unique blend of interviewing, communication, and non-profit experience to the table.
Philosophically, Jonathan believes that the client’s needs come first and that a candidate must not only be qualified for a position, but also be a fit for the company’s culture and mission. In general, non-profit organizations stand alone in terms of the importance of employees believing in the goal they are working toward. This is even truer for development positions in which an employee must essentially sell an idea to prospective donors in order to fund the organization’s work. Jonathan understands and appreciates this critical piece in the recruitment process for non-profit organizations, which results in him finding a smaller group of highly qualified and committed candidates for the organization to review.
In his tenure at Hawthorne Jonathan has worked on searches nationwide and actively recruits in the non-profit space building up a strong database of candidates. Some representative searches he works on are:
- Development Directors
- Development Coordinators/Managers
- Directors of Development of Communication
- C-level Positions
Jonathan is committed to recruiting for the long term and is always more than happy to speak with or advise a hiring manager or candidate who is looking for the right fit. The fact that the professionals that he places within organizations make a real positive impact on the world is the most deeply satisfying part of his job.
Jonathan has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. When he isn’t searching for candidates he’s big into working out and loves spending quality time with his wife Rachel and his beagle Bella.
