The ideal candidate will have hands-on merchandising experience building vendor relationships, ideally with 5+ years apparel retail buying experience. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to succeed at: managing and driving a full P&L, team-building and management, planning and forecasting, and driving an online business. The Sr Buyer is a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon. To that end, he or she must be able to develop clear thinking and business rationale for new features & services and interact with technology development teams to bring customers ease-of-use and innovation. The Sr Buyer must be an effective communicator in working with some of Amazon.com's most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal colleagues and groups. Bachelor degree and 5+ years experience required.

To ensure the Sr Buyer is successful, he or she must be able to:
• Think strategically and tactically
• Rapidly expand and grow our retail business (Amazon-owned inventory)
• Integrate analysis and merchandising instinct into a cohesive category strategy
• Recognize and recommend opportunities to improve the customer shopping experience for apparel
• Develop unique merchandising programs that will reinforce Amazon in becoming the global leader in online shopping for clothing
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
